Veterans to Naval Careers offers student veterans pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in STEM the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through research and development projects within the Department of the Navy.
Participants in the program receive a monthly stipend based on location, a dedicated career coach for personalized guidance, and hands-on professional experience, all aimed at preparing them for future careers within the Department of Defense and related industries.
Requirements:
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
U.S. citizenship
DoD Veterans or Reservist/National Guard status
Full-time student
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Minimum one-year commitment
Commitment of at least 10 hours and up to 20 hours per week
Up to 40 hours per week during the summer

Ability to pass a drug test (Please note that recreational drugs and CBD use are not permitted on DOD facilities, even in states where this is legal).
Other Considerations:
This program is not a grant, and continued participation is evaluated at the end of each semester based on the participant’s performance during the previous term. Scheduling for the upcoming semester will be coordinated between the program participant and the Principal Investigator.
Program participants may also have the opportunity for funded travel to conferences or events that align with the project’s goals. Veterans to Naval Careers (VNC) will cover all reasonable travel expenses, but each trip must receive prior approval from both VNC and your Principal Investigator. After each trip, participants are required to submit a brief review of their experience.
